Some fourth-year Bachelor of Education degree students of Edith Cowan University from Australia who aspire to be language teachers have been coming to Mauritius every year, for the last 10 years, for a two-week learning and teaching activity. This exercise is important for them to qualify as a primary school teacher or an early childhood teacher. The student-teachers learn how to teach English as a second language or an additional language.
