Alternative careers: Nursing

Are you looking to get out of TEFL and start an alternative career? You could do worse that finding out how you could become a nurse.

In recent times, nursing careers have emerged as a viable option for many people. In your work as a nurse, you will often find yourself the key healthcare professional working closely with physicians as a key member of a patient health care team. There are lots of different ways to be involved in nursing, nursing programs as well as a variety of ways to get a degree in nursing.

Licensed vocational nursing

Basically, this is a nurse who is licensed by the particular state to provide routine patient care and perform everyday duties. The term LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) can be used instead of LVN in the United States.

Registered nursing

The RN position relates to the vast majority of workers in the health care profession. In fact, this is a vital job in health care because registered nurses hold designation of priority over the LVN or LPN.

BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Nursing degrees are practically a compulsory qualification for the contemporary nursing career. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing should be viewed as the necessary first step towards establishing a nursing career.

MSN (Master of Science in Nursing)

The MSN is a more advanced qualification which enhances the training of students in the handling of medical situations. Additionally, nurses are educated on legal and ethical issues in health care systems and may look into nursing research.

Without doubt, modern nursing is an exceptional vocation if you really feel like changing career paths.
