I am tempted by Thailand, but my family aren't too keen on me going because of the other side to Thailand that you neglect to mention. Also, isn't there a problem with unrest in the capital at the minute? No matter all the problems, I would still love to come to enjoy the beaches, landscapes, climate and for the reasons you state.
